Mayor Bowser Announces Art All Night 2025 Dates and DC Main Streets Awardees
(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) are thrilled to announce the dates for Art All Night 2025, a citywide celebration of local artists and businesses. This year's Art All Night will take place on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13, bringing vibrant art, live performances, and community spirit to neighborhoods across all eight wards of DC.
“Every year, Art All Night shines a spotlight on our local talent and showcases the heart of our neighborhoods and our DC Main Streets,” said Mayor Bowser. “By investing in these corridors, we’re investing in the people and places that make DC a creative, connected city. We’re proving that when we lift up our local entrepreneurs, we create opportunities for everyone to thrive.”
First introduced as Art All Night: Nuit Blanche DC by Shaw Main Streets in 2011, this event has grown into a two-day celebration. Last year’s event attracted more than 140,000 visitors, including over 12,000 attendees at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library block party. This year’s events promise to be even more dynamic, with activations hosted by DC Main Streets organizations across the city.
In addition to announcing Art All Night 2025 dates, DSLBD announced the grantees selected to operate four DC Main Streets locations following a competitive application process:

These awards reinforce Mayor Bowser’s ongoing commitment to strengthening DC’s commercial corridors, which serve as hubs for local business, community engagement, and economic development. The Fiscal Year 2025 budget includes over $5 million to the DC Main Street program, which offers technical grants and façade improvement assistance to small and local businesses in all 8 wards.
“DSLBD is proud to continue our unwavering support of the DC Main Streets program, which has been a cornerstone of community revitalization and economic growth across the District,” said DSLBD Director Rosemary Suggs Evans. “Together, with our incredible Main Street organizations, we're committed to ensuring every neighborhood has the tools and opportunities to thrive.”
This year marks an exciting milestone with the establishment of the Foggy Bottom-West End Main Street, DC's 29th recognized Main Street. In 2023, Ward 2 Councilmember Brooke Pinto secured funding for a feasibility assessment, which confirmed the benefits of creating a Main Street program in the area. As a result, the program was incorporated into the FY2025 budget and officially awarded in December of 2024.
By partnering with independent nonprofit organizations, DSLBD’s DC Main Streets program provides financial and technical assistance to revitalize neighborhood business districts. From hosting community events to beautification projects and business development support, the program plays a vital role in enhancing the economic vitality of DC neighborhoods.
